Glee news, episodes, music, and more!
Hey, Hello fellow Gleeks. Despite my super busy schedule, I thought I’d take time to tell you guys my salon experience… hold on to your seats, it does involve…GLEE!!!
Has everyone had a good weekend? I don’t know about you guys, but I had a very busy one! You know that feeling, when you’ve been working for a solid 9 hours, and you finally get home, ready for some relaxing, and then you remember, you have a whole list of stuff that needs to be done by Monday??? Well aint that just a kick in the butt!
But despite my super busy schedule, I thought I’d take time to tell you guys my salon experience…hold on to your seats, it does involve…GLEE!!!
So I went to the Salon, to get a restyle, I felt my current hairstyle was a little too outdated, I’ve had it long for almost a year, which by my clock is a very long time. So I went, and told them, very bravely I might add…”cut it all off”. The hair dresser, who incidentally I knew from middle school, was my stylist. She gave me that look that people usually give other people who they think are going through a midlife crisis…I’m only 17 though, so its more like the midteen crisis…has anyone else gone on one of those? Not fun. So yeh, back to the story. As she began washing my hair, I started humming along to “Don’t Stop Believin” toe tapping and everything, when my stylist turned up the radio and said “Hey I’m a Gleek too.” It turns out the song had been playing on the radio…and that the salon were fans of the show. She started singing, and I (not as brave as the others) hummed, then a few other stylist started singing along, it was like a musical hair salon, it made my haircut that much more fun (if haircuts are even fun…). It was totally surreal to see a bunch of hairdressers singing along to the song, it was a “you had to be there story” but just imagine my glowing face seeing the impact a show like Glee has made in everyone. I wonder what the writers would say if they knew that people in all walks of life dance and sing along at any given moment? Have you seen/heard/peeked at anyone secretly dancing/singing along to a Glee song? Have you watched intently at someone trying so hard to dance just like the characters?
I only a few minutes ago, heard the song “Put a ring on it” blasting through the house, only find my sister in her bedroom, her TV blasting, her dancing, little butt wiggling, hands waving around, pointing at her index finger mouthing “if you like it you should put a ring on it…” I asked her (without laughing might I add, because it was very very amusing) what she was doing, she looked embarrassed, and said “I want to learn the dance to Kurts song” I had to remind her that Kurt (Chris Colfer, Glee) had not actually made up the song or dance “Put a ring on it” and that Beyonce had made that song popular…
Do you have any Glee related stories? Or even just some funny Salon ones?
Ps.
If anyone wants to participate in my Media V.log which will be played at a small movie festival in my town, all that is needed is you sending me vid’s of you reading a slice of a script I send you, credits will obviously added to you! Just comment below.

i love this song too now but for dfnreieft reasons the great Peter Mak introduced us to this song last FEC as the song that he played every time he started to hit walls building the business it was the song that propelled him to Diamond. It is one of my most played songs now on the pod ah, Macca groupie that I amHappy songs Walkin’ on Sunshine gets a big vote from me and also Doobie brothers stuff um, just how old am I?XXX
Hahaha, such a cool story. I can’t believe it. I wish my salon was as cool as yours. Do you think next time you go you can get a video of it?!?
Can I just say that I’ve got No Idea of what song you’re going on about? Rappers Delight I know and can rap along with this Afternoon Delight thoguh I dunno. Alls I got is that shirt.
Totally, next time I’m thinking they should have a full salon musical! Theres a musical and a gleek in every salon just encourage it by singing first…or in my case…humming! hehe
whats you’re favourite episode so far?
I had a similar experience. I live with two girls, the three of us share a flat at Uni. I was sitting in my room the other day listening to Baby It’s Cold Outside with my headphones on. I started singing the Blaine parts a little more loudly than I initially planned on, suddenly, my flatmate bangs the door open and sings the next Kurt part. I get up and flourish and sing/flirt back to her, she reciprocates. We start dancing around the apartment singing/flirting with Baby It’s Cold Outside and my other flatmate butts in-between and starts dancing.
We sing the last one minute alternating lines with each other, flirting, winking, swinging, sweeping, it was SO much fun. Then the song ended and we started laughing. It was so unbelievable what we had done, just out of the blue.
Now it’s turned into this thing where every night, someone will start with a Glee song that represents their state/mood at the time, and the others will join in. Being the Gleeks that the three of us are, between us, there isn’t a single song on the show that we don’t know of by heart at this point. And there are a lot of songs.
Haha! Fun times!
