Glee superstar Lea Michele is going to play guest mentor on the Glee spinoff series, the reality competition show, The Glee Project Season 2. The actress was the one who actually announced this through her Twitter acocunt over the weekend, but on Monday, Oxygen made its official announcement.

She will be one of a series of guest mentors who are slated to appear on the show. In the first season, Darren Criss was the first to become mentor, and was later followed by other Glee stars like Kevin McHale, Harry Shum, Jr, Jenna Ushkowitz and Mark Salling.

The Glee Project has actually started production this week in Los Angeles.

Earlier, the announcement for season 2 came, as it was confirmed that Glee will be having a fourth season. Winners of the contest actually have a spot on the next season of the show. In fact, the top 3 winners of the first season did have their moment on Glee last year, with a simple storyline and a song number to boast about.

This year, The Glee Project will have 14 contestants as opposed to 12 from last season.
