My reckoning is that the show's target audience is aged between 16 and 26, and therefore anyone younger may not be able to play the role of an older teenage character. It does seem to make sense if you look at the ages of the rest of the cast, and the storylines and where they are going. (Quinn's teen pregnancy, the emma/Mr Schu. affair, etc) I'm sure there are some fantastic people under and over the age limit who deserve a chance but i'm afraid that rules are rules and they can't be changed :( If you are one of those people who are under the age limit well theres always season 3! ;) Thankyou for commenting and i'm sorry I couldn't be of more help!
